AndroidTutor2018- There are several reasons why you might be interested in creating a second, limited profile on your Android tablet. For example, if the device is being used by your employees who need to perform a specific task, a restricted profile will block them from gaining access to apps, games or any private content. In another scenario, you could be a teacher who lends their tablet to students or have a child at home that likes to play games. Today we will tell you how to set up a restricted profile.

Android 4.3 brought multi-user profiles, now with new restricted profile possibilities. Apps with restricted profiles will not feature in-app purchase opportunities. These profiles co-exist in the same session but keep intact the preferences and permitted accessibility to the app depending on the settings.
1. Go on Settings and select the item under Device Users
2. Tap the Add user or profile
3. Select the restricted profile.

4. You will notice that a new profile with limitations called New Profile has joined the list of users.
5. If you don’t have a lock screen set up to protect your own profile, it will prompt you to create one with a pattern or pin.

6. Next, you will see a list of apps with toggles that can be activated for the newly created profile. The name and the picture can be changed for it as well.
6. The new profile is complete. Now you can access either one from the lock screen.

7. If you no longer require the restricted profile, you are able to delete it under Users in the Settings.
This is a simple and easy way to maintain the confidentiality of your data. Alternately you can set up second user profiles that aren't restricted by going the same route but not choosing the restricted option.

users accounts only for root devices and not phones

not entirely. root needed only on phone most 4.2+ tabs should have this enabled (Samsung tab2 maybe not, but nexus for example)

hey, you should mention that S3 doesn't have the setting for making user accounts. I just looked to make one and there is no were in my settings to make multiple user accounts.
i have a Galaxy S3 SGH-T999 android 4.3

I have 4.3 installed on my Galaxy S4 but I don't see the Users section anywhere! My carrier is Telus in Canada. Are there different flavors of 4.3?

i have a galaxy s3 and i would like to make a restricted user account but the explanations atop is for other androids. In my setting i do not have a user setting, or maybe i missed it.
Can anyone tell me if its possible to make a restricted user account with a s3 and how?
+ if anyone can guide me on my next android device please message me.Im in love with my s3 and now s5 is coming but im getting confused because others suggest the new HTC coming and Sony.they say it will be better than samsung.I'm a samsung fanatic.i love all galaxy.but is s5 is not worth it then....Mostly i love android.Always hated macs since my ealry beginnings on a pc in the early 90's and never used or will ever use anything mac.They suck and if you use mac its mac and nothing else.That sucks. i like the choice i have with PC and especially android for phones and tablets.

the problem is that if you want to create users/profiles on any phone/phone-like device, you will have to go to the root/CustomROM/Modding section.
about new phone, wait until they are in the stores and take the one that fits you most, especially in size, form and everything. that's why I ditched the S line to get to the Note line (in fact I didnt really ditch the S line coz I never had an S device, but it was in for my first better smartphone until I noticed that they are too small)...

as far as I know you simply have to click on your user picture in the quick settings (if you have a Nexus or AOSP based ROM)
