For me, I prefer AirMore to get android notification on my computer. AirMore allows you to receive all the notification from your phone in real time. Then, you can also send messages directly and hang up the calls on web.
I haven’t missed any messages while managing my data online because of this program.

It's the reason why iMessage is so popular because you can see your messages on both your mac and iPhone simultaneously. Google's messaging applications truly stink !!!

The same can be done with Google Voice. I see all my messages on my phone, my tablet, my Chromebook and any computer running the Chrome browser including iOS devices. It's a superset of iMessage.

I tried various PC/phone apps but haven't found them all that personally useful since the phone is nearby anyway. This looks like the basis of a pretty good parenting and possibly business fleet app - you'd want multiple device log ins and a password lock to prevent kids or employees from tampering with the settings, and geolocation.
