The Galaxy Note 4 easy fix
We're going to throw this one out there straight away. If you have recently updated your Galaxy Note 4, whether you are experiencing catastrophic problems or minor complaints, you should restart your device. Think of it as giving your Note 4 a little power nap. You will be surprised at how many problems this can fix.
Hold down the power button > tap "power off" > remove the battery > after 30 seconds, reinsert the battery and then hold the power button to switch it back on.

Don't hit restart. Switch your phone off and remove the battery instead. / © ANDROIDPIT
Galaxy Note 4 battery drain problems
Some users are experiencing some battery life issues after downloading the Android Lollipop update. While this could be a natural side-effect of the update (it does not provide an increase in battery life in all cases, sadly), the best way to find out is to do a factory reset.
We have written a detailed guide on how to factory reset the Galaxy Note 4, but only attempt this if you have exhausted our Galaxy Note 4 battery tips list first.

To help save the Galaxy Note 4 battery, untick the Auto box for brightness and adjust it manually. / © ANDROIDPIT
Galaxy Note 4 GPS signal problems
The Galaxy Note 4 GPS is prone to losing connection, and it's a tricky thing to fix. Where possible, connect to Wi-Fi or 3G/4G to give your phone as much support as possible when trying to determine your location. Check out our how to improve GPS signal article for more help.
Go to settings > location > make sure it is switched "on" (hit "agree" if prompted) > tap "mode" > ensure it is set to "high accuracy"

Setting your phone location services mode to high accuracy will give it the best chance of a solid location information. / © ANDROIDPIT
Galaxy Note 4 Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection problems
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi problems, hello again old friends. If there is one problem destined to plague your Galaxy Note 4 it is that of connectivity. Often this can be solved at the source, restarting a router or Bluetooth device, and if that doesn't work...
Go to settings > Bluetooth > unpair with any previously paired devices > turn off Blueooth (tap the slider) > turn on Bluetooth and try to reconnect with devices again.
Go to settings > Wi-Fi > forget your Wi-Fi channel > turn off Wi-Fi > turn on Wi-Fi and reconnect.

Restarting Bluetooth or Wi-Fi devices should always be your first step on the road to fixing such issues. / © ANDROIDPIT
Galaxy Note 4 camera crashes
Camera apps are known for crashing, particularly when launched from the lock-screen. Updates can also mess with your camera app (the poor Nexus 5 camera had a torrid history with updates), so if you've found your camera, or any other app, acting up recently, a solution is fairly simple.
Go to settings > application manager > all > camera (or other app) > tap "clear data". And, if you don't mind losing any of your camera defaults or preferences, hit "clear cache".

Clearing storage and cache data will often cure app issues. / © ANDROIDPIT

I have the same problem after automatic updating my Note 4 from the original Android 5.0.2 to Android 5.1.1. This problem happens to my Headphone Sony MDR-10RBT that was working properly before, now after 1 to 3 minutes of playing music the BT connection just drops. My Bluetooth is working properly with the BT Keyboard with my car system BT for calls and audio, transfer files over BT, so the problem is selective......that is to say a huge BUG in the software. This Headphone is still working fine with my other Galaxy S5 with Android 5.0.1. I have tried every thing possible.... Soft Reset, Hard Reset, Cleaning Cache Partition, cleaning cache e data do BT app e BT test app.......... nothing solve the problem with the Sony Headphone. I have contacted Samsung and they told me to take my phone for the technical assistance?????? What for?! BT is functional. HUGE........ HUGE BUG. One other thing that stopped working in my Note 4 is the NFC???????? Shame on Samsung.... For me that is the end of it no more Samsung I have left Nokia for similar reasons, now head on to IPhone....

Hi, I have a sort of weird problem. I updated my Verzon Note 4 to lollipop ver. 5.0.1. The problem is with email and history. Only partial email and history (upto different dates for each) shows up in the listings. However, in case of email I can recover older ones if I knew the proper words to search with. (Of course, I know that for only a few emails.) I have gone through google help forum for syncing with the same results. Any, ideas? Appreciate your help. Thanks.

I have a galaxy note 4. It worked fine until the update to lollipop. Now the call forwarding and call waiting do not work. Have replaced the phone several times. Any idea how to fix the phone. If I root it I void my warranty.

I updated my Note 4 to 5.1.1 (Sprint) a few days ago after its release and my email (not the Gmail app) keeps shutting down. This is the email I use for work and I can't clear the data because I need to access too much on it. How do I fix it? You can't uninstall the app, I've cleared the cache, removed the battery, restarted it.

The only time it won't do this is when it is running in safe mode. Please help.

Galaxy Note 4, AT&T. On 7/26/2015 did the upgrade to 5.1. Everything seems just fine. I did reboot a few times since then, but all was still fine. Suddenly this morning, I get the error that the SD card was removed unexpectedly. This is a new major brand 32GB card. I have gone through 4 of these 32GB cards since I've had the phone earlier this year. I have taken the card out, the battery out, restarted the phone, etc. and still the card is not recognized. I have seen remarks other places where people said they removed their password and/or fingerprints and then suddenly the SD card returned. I use neither of these so I can't turn them off and start over. I have taken the phone into an AT&T service center with the earlier SD problems and was told it was because of some errors in songs that were on the SD card, so I stopped putting songs on any card, that seemed okay until the upgrade to 5.1. The only things on the card are some small apps that were suggested to move there, which obviously I can't get to at this point. The SD card is also not seen by my computer now. Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. Joe... joem2254@att.net

I have the galaxy note edge. Upon upgrading to android 5.1.1, my wifi connection is absolutely horrible. it is slower than dial up. I have tried on multiple wifi networks and all the same. I am on the sprint network. I have tried almost everything you can think of except the real solution, which no one has been able to find. I even went back to sprint and exchanged for a new phone cause they said it could be faulty hardware but apparently it may be a problem with 5.1.1?

Note 4 verizon update just released OTA a few days ago...and via Kies for about a month. There appears to be no apparent benefits from the update from a performance, battery, or feature perspective aside from adding their Samsung Milk shortcut to the app menu (wow thanks so much, that 2GB update couldn't of added any optional ergonomic features to the interface, what the else is in there that 2GBs??)
HOWEVER!! I forgot to add it adds this new awesome feature of auto causing the device to CRASH!!! Thus restarting when you have WiFi turned on and also attempt to connect to an open WiFi network (in all cases it's only been for those which are open and requite authentication via a central Web page ie. Starbucks, other retail WiFi setups) Each crash/restart cycle it will restart with WiFi on, thus attempting again to connect to the network before and continue the cycle...until the battery runs out or you turn WiFi off.
I new that since this update didn't update any android lollipop OS versions that it was completely useless.

Screen write only works a few times after reboot then freezes up my phone for 10 minutes. I've master reset several times, cleared cache and yelled at it quite loudly. It didn't work. Also wiped cache partition. Nada on that to. Sigh.. I have these issues on both Note 3 & 4...

Next issue. Camera focus sucks! I've tried the holding finger down until it focus then smack it again. It works on a per shot basis. If you can't actually see what it is you're taking a pic of then best of luck with that one.
Next issue. Battery gets hot! Very very hot! Not fair!
Next issue...Um my battery issue made me forget.

Thanks in advance to anyone that has a permanent fix especially for screen write cuz I beta test apps and need screen write daily.

NOTE 4 USER: I know that this new update has been kinda buggy. I'm not really a "phone geek" so idk all the issues thats. een going on with this update. Has anyone else been having the issue with the screen staying on after the phn gashas not been in use? I have the screen timeout option on 15 secs and it still stays on longer until I hit the power button to turn the screen off.
