Best Advice for taking your Android on Holidays -[AndroidTutor2018]

AndroidTutor2018- Summer is here and many of us are going on vacations. Before you leave to go abroad, there are many things to check off on your check list in preparation: pack bags, book flights, buy a bikini etc. There's also things to prepare for when it comes to the smartphones, tablets and other gadgets you want to take with you.

Having your Android prepped is important when going on vacation which will help you have a good time (especially for those who cannot live without it). You'll need to verify your apps, make sure you have all of the ones you need as well as bring along various smartphone accessories. The costs of communicating when abroad can be greatly reduced when taking the right steps before leaving.
System Prep
Here there's definitely more than one thing to verify. First off, pickpockets are all over the place, so the chances of having your phone stolen or losing it somewhere is not out of the question. There are many different things you can do when this happens, but an easy and effective one is Android Lost. Simply put, it's important to take certain measures in advance and install an applicable app that will help you solve any lost smartphone woes that arise.
No Wi-Fi, lost in a strange country? Offline Maps will help
Save some offline maps of where you are going to be on Google Maps, so that you will be able to retrieve them even without a Wi-Fi connection. This will hopefully help you from getting too lost when in a foreign country. There are of course many other offline maps that you could try out too, if you so fancy. This way you won't need to use roaming when abroad and save yourself from spending heaps of dough. Check out the how-to in our forum.
What are you going to see and do? Get Travel Apps!
You're also able to search for apps and guides that will give you loads of information for where you are going, like Trip Advisor or Lonely Planet (to name two of the thousands of apps of this genre which are out there). Don't forget to download a ton of games to keep you occupied while you are waiting at the airport. I can recommend a few good (and free) zombie, racing and tower defense games.

Accessories
Off to the sea? Plan on bringing a protective cover! Sounds silly, but this will safeguard your device from sand, scratches and the sun. You can easily find one in any store that will perfectly fit your Android and match your style as well. Remain practical by not splurging too much and get a simple one, they all do the same thing.
Don't forget the juice
If it’s important for you to be using your smartphone at all times, don't forget to bring a replacement battery as well as a solar charger. Charging your device when on holidays can be a real pain so make sure your charger is compatible with your device if you buy a new one and make sure you have the right adapter for the power sockets where you’re going to be. Also opt for an official battery instead of a cheap, often ineffective knock-off.
Ensure for enough space
If you plan on using your smartphone to immortalize the most magical moments on your vacation, you should verify that you have enough storage space. To avoid any panicky moments because you can't capture the Taj Mahal or that moment with the Pope, you should plan on bringing an external SD card or use a cloud service, for which you will require internet connection.
Communicating when abroad shouldn't cost an arm and a leg
Another important step is getting the DL on mobile rates abroad. So you don't go bankrupt along theway, don't forget to deactivate your data connection (Settings → Data Usage → and uncheck ''mobile data''). Many cafes, restaurants and hotels offer free Wi-Fi: make sure you post all your pictures on Facebook and Instagram before you head back to the beach.
What are your pre-vacation rituals that you do to prep your Android to make sure you have the most amazing holiday ever?
